Characteristic

● This product is a white or milky white amorphous powder, odorless; hygroscopic, completely soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, isopropanol, propylene glycol, glycerol, low molecular weight polyethylene glycol and other similar solvents and ester, ketone solvents, slightly soluble in ether and hydrocarbon solvents.

● The viscosity of water and alcohol solutions of this product is low, and the viscosity coefficient is small; under normal conditions, the properties are stable, but when mixed with strong acid or strong alkali solution to a certain extent, the vinyl acetate structure in the molecular chain will be hydrolyzed or saponified, resulting in changes in physical properties.

● As a binder for tablets and granules, this product can be completed by wet or dry granulation or direct tablet compression; as a film coating, it is often used in combination with cellulose derivatives, shellac, and high molecular weight polyethylene glycol to improve the strength of the film and adjust the flexibility and solubility of the film; when used for coating the isolation layer of water-sensitive drug core tablets, the core can be heated to 30-40°C first, and then sprayed with a 10% non-aqueous solution of this product (ethanol, isopropanol, ethyl acetate or acetone).
